It has been about 5 months since my last post and I thought it was time to check in. The US just passed a resolution to raise the debt limit, so this problem is now past us for the moment. Inflation is cooling but high interest rates are keeping the investment community in limbo as we await some more visibility into what lies ahead and as a result the IPO market remains almost non-existent which is not good news for my sustainability demonstration farm. I am painfully anxious to get going and have basically all the details worked out. Patience can be hard!!
Meanwhile, there is now a steady daily stream of articles on the growing risk associated with climate change and quite frankly, all the scientific predictions are coming true, albeit faster than originally thought (not good news). I would tell my friends that everyone’s hair would be on fire about climate change by 2030 but for better or worse, it looks like this will happen sooner than my prediction. If you go back and read my posts, I believe you will find that the issues I raised are indeed at our doorstep (tipping points, water scarcity, social instability risk, etc..).
Here is a link to an article this week titled: Humans have surpassed almost every safe limit to keep Earth habitable

Look, I feel like a broken record (remember those vinyl things?) but we are headed down a very scary path and as much as I wish humanity would get its house in order in time, it ain’t gonna happen in time. I wish I had the farm up and running to show you an option to have a chance to weather the storm and will do so hopefully in the next few years, but meanwhile, put in place some strategies for preserving your family if you can, cause we are in for a bumpy ride!
