I have been following the climate change issue for more than 40 yrs and listening to the science intently during that time. If you know me and have read my blogs, just about everything I have said over the last 25 yrs that would happen, has. Not because I am smart guy, I just listen to the science. So:
- Global temperature has already hit or exceeded 1.5 deg C
- Permafrost is melting discharging CO2 and methane
- Storms are stronger and more severe
- Glaciers and Poles are melting faster
- Droughts are more severe
- Fires are bigger, hotter, more destructive
- Oceans are warming
- Sea level is rising
- The AMOC is on the verge of collapse (see graphic below, this could be bad if it fails)
- And oh by the way, CO2 levels are rising faster than ever
We are in trouble and it is going to get worse before it stabilizes at some unknown future level (maybe 3 deg C overall increase, I hope) Anyway, we are moving North to the WA farm in another year. I suggest you start thinking about your own adaptation strategy, because you might need one in the next decade.
