May ’25 Phase 1 end in sight

Well, it is the middle of May and the end of Phase 1 of the farm project is finally in sight.  Solar (~19kw + 60kw of battery storage) is done this week.  Livestock barn has been structurally re-enforced plus now has lighting and expandable electrical service (hay barn has light and a few outlets).  Hot tub and deck on target to be completed by end of month (I will need that tub to relax after a hard day on the farm!).  Greenhouse should be done by mid-June.  Things back in CA are progressing as we prepare for the move up to WA in early September.  Fruit trees are all budding after being planted in April.  Whew!!

Back when I purchased the property, I thought everyone’s hair would be on fire about climate change by 2030 but then, caught up in my own hope, I thought maybe by now, 2025.  Well, Covid and Ukraine happened and as noted on my view on the front page of the website, we humans do pay attention to things in front of us (thankfully in some cases) and although climate is getting attention, it is not enough.  So, now I just hope everyone gets focused by 2030.  That said, although I hope I am wrong, pretty sure we are past the tipping point(s) and just hope we can all play nice as things get slowly worse.  We are truly boiling the frog!
